They have a belief that the physical body is inherently flawed and is going to experience problems. This comes from many past lives, where the Unwell either experienced a disease or injury that changed their life drastically, or caused them to lose their life. Because of this, the Unwell has a tendency to focus on their physical body now. The Unwell feels most confident when they are addressing the needs of their own body in some way. Deep down, the Unwell fears that they will meet the same end they did in their past life experiences.
The Unwell is extremely in tune with their body, and this can be both positive and negative, as it all depends on how the Unwell uses this knowledge in their life now. The Unwell would make an excellent nutritionist, healer, personal trainer, rehab counselor or anyone else who focuses on the health and well-being of the body in some way. However, the Unwell still tends to hide their own deep fears about their body failing them one day, and they can feel extremes when it comes to how they perceive of their body, moving from feeling great to feeling down at a moment’s notice. The Unwell is also quite sensitive to any comments that others make about body-centric topics, more so if those comments are actually directed at the Unwell.
Some of the typical past life experiences of the Unwell are: being in a disfiguring accident, being born with a serious physical challenge, dying of a long term debilitating disease, experiencing a disease or accident during a life that changed the way they were able to care for themselves. If you find that the majority of your daily thoughts tend to focus in on your body and what it is doing, then you hold the past life pattern of the Unwell.
Expression of the Unwell Pattern in Your Life Now – The Unwell fears that something will go wrong with their body one day, and they permit this fear to rule everything in their life. There is not one day where the Unwell is not focused on their body. In fact, they focus on their body so much, the thoughts of body awareness take up a good 60% of their daily thought patterns! The Unwell also has fear of needing to be dependent on others some day, this is because in the past they had undergone an experience that left them unable to take care of all of their own personal needs in some way. The Unwell feels that they can be a burden on others, and will often apologize for things that they do not need to be apologizing for. This feeling of being a burden shows up the most in romantic relationships, where the Unwell feels that they are being bothersome to their partner, even if the Unwell is engaging in normal household activities, like watching a movie or cleaning the house. If they assess that their activities are interfering with their partner’s well-being in any way, the Unwell will stop immediately, to resume these things another time.
There are two ways that the Unwell theme reveals itself; The Anxious Unwell and the Denying Unwell. If you resonate with The Unwell pattern, you might discover that you can possess qualities of one, or even both, of the ways that The Unwell pattern is expressed. Often in one area of life you can feel one way, and in another area of life feel another way.
The Anxious Unwell – The Anxious Unwell is busy spending up all of their time and money looking for cures, herbs, supplements, healing modalities or anything else that can fix whatever they feel their body challenges are. It does not matter if the Anxious Unwell has actually experienced a serious illness in this life or not, they are treating every “problem” with the body as if it is a serious condition. The Anxious Unwell can over saturate their mind with possible symptoms, conditions, and what those symptoms indicate, often taking things to a worse-case-scenario place in their mind. Because of this, they will go to the acupuncturist, doctor, chiropractor, healer, etc., much more frequently than others. The Anxious Unwell often apologizes for “not doing enough” to help others, even though anyone who knows them would say that they are a very capable and wonderful friend. The Anxious Unwell will not like it if anyone tries to come in and change something in their environment, especially if it has to do with food, exercise, healing, supplements or anything else body related. If you are someone who is often reading up (and trying) on different healing methods, treatments and/or natural cures, then you showcase the past life pattern of the Anxious Unwell. The Anxious Unwell’s biggest lesson is to learn about how they can manifest body health, but not through stress and worry about the body.
The Denying Unwell – The Denying Unwell is given he name because they loath going to the doctor, and will often ignore medical advice. The Denying Unwell firmly believes that they body will fail them anyway, so why not stay out of medicine and hospitals, as the Denying Unwell feels that those environments affect the quality of their life. The Denying Unwell will often hold onto a habit, like smoking or sneaking certain foods, long after it has been told to them that this habit is unhealthy. Their philosophy is: if I like what I do, then today is a good day. However, the Denying Unwell also has a need to complain about their age, or aches and pains (it is like they resign themselves to these experiences). They also do not want to be a burden on others, and it is this feeling that prevents them from going to the hospital and treatment centers, as they feel those environments as making them vulnerable to “the health care system.” They would much rather control their own environment by staying home and “riding this out.” The Denying Unwell can often be gruff and stern, and at times, inappropriate comments come out of their mouth. They will apologize afterward if they hurt your feelings, but deep down they feel like life is about doing what they want, even if that is making an inappropriate comment. If you avoid doctors and hospitals, are having difficulty with quitting smoking (or other habit that you know is not good for you) and have a blunt personality, then you showcase the past life pattern of the Denying Unwell. The Denying Unwell’s biggest lesson is to open themselves up to listen to others, and to release the feeling of entitlement as related to “bad” behavior.
